THE AUTHOR
I'm a native of New York City, born and raised in Morningside Heights, Spanish Harlem. I'm a first-generation Puerto Rican/American with a love for both cultures. I attended the City College of New York, where I obtained a Master of Arts in Secondary Education, History. During my early twenties and thirties, I worked as a Bouncer in the most famous NYC clubs. I effectively assimilated and absorbed into a subculture that came alive, while most slept. It was a dark, treacherous, violent and licentious journey that added to my resolve. I attended college during the day and transformed into a sentinel at night. After my graduation, I taught at a Catholic School with gratifying results. I transitioned to a Foster Care, and Adoption Social Worker where my heart felt the heaviest. I developed a new appreciation for my mother as I saw the despondency in their eyes. It was a rewarding, spiritual and emotional journey with a perspective on family life that added to my resolve. I worked in my community with a subjective approach which resulted as a panacea to those I helped. I am proud to introduce my novel as a journey we all take with paths leading to redemption, hope and love.
